What is the benefit of this feature?

This feature allows the customer to use another group not assigned to him.

Where do we find the Routing Prefix?

Tariff ⇾ Rategroup ⇾ Create/Edit Rategroup ⇾ Add Prefix

Let us create two different rate groups named Gold, Silver and the 7777 prefix assigned to the Gold rate group.

You can see below screenshot both rate group is created.

Let's assign the silver rate group to one of our test customers. In the billing information section of the customer's edit profile, assign a rate group.

The client will use the routing prefix 7777 if he wants to dial the UK (44) number since the silver rate group does not contain a rate for 44.

Let's test calls with and without prefixes.

As you can see in the screenshot below, the Adesh customer receives the Origination Rate not found error when he does not use the routing prefix. A simple number 44567890 is being dialled by him.

As you can see in the screenshot below, the customer dials the same number with a 7777 prefix to connect the call.

You can also verify the same thing in the CDR too.

Similarly, resellers can apply routing prefixes when creating rate groups for their customers.

The prefix 9999 is added by resellers when they create rate groups for their customers, so if the reseller's customer wants to use a gold rate group, the number should contain the prefix 9999.
