Trunks
Overview
Trunks enable the exchange of voice and data between different parts of a telecommunications network, contributing to the overall efficiency and functionality of the system.
Purpose
Trunks in ASTPP serve as a vital component in managing the connection between rate groups, gateways, and routing strategies. The careful selection and configuration of trunks impact both the service quality for customers and the financial aspects for administrators.
How will it work?
Menu Location: Carriers → Trunks
Trunks can be created with the fields mentioned below.
Name | Name of the trunk for identification |
Provider | Select appropriate provider which is associated with this specific trunk |
Gateway Name | Select the Gateway where you want to terminate the call using this trunk |
Failover Gateway Name | Failover Gateway is use to do second attempt for call termination in case of first gateway are down or not responding |
Localization | Select localization rule |
Remote ID | Select Remote ID which is used for authentication |
Codec | Specify the codec name which you want to send to termination part |
Call Timeout | Ring time out time |
Concurrent Call | How many concurrent calls you want to allow using the same trunk that you need to define here |
CPS | How many CPS (Call Per Second) you want to allow using the same trunk that you need to define here. |
Priority | Set the priority of trunk to consider while building the dialplan |
Status | Status for the trunk (Active/Inactive) |
Decimal | Select the Decimal value (1-5) for termination rates cost uploaded under this trunk |
