Ring Group

About

Ring group allows incoming calls to be distributed to multiple phones or extensions simultaneously or in a specific order until one of the phones answers the call. Ring groups are often used to ensure that calls are answered promptly and to distribute the call load among multiple employees or team members.

Where to find Ring Groups?

Ring Groups are available for Admin, Sub admin, customer and reseller. Admin/Sub Admin/Reseller can create and setup Ring group for their customer and Customer can create and setup ring group for them self from their customer portal.

Adding a Ring Group



Ring group have Advance setting option to make the ring group more reliable.


Fields

Description

Name

Set ring group unique name

Ring Strategy

Select from the following methods in which the extension list can be dialed:

  • SimultaneousThis will ring all available extensions simultaneously until someone answers.

  • Sequence : This will ring extensions one by one until someone answers. 

Description

Describe more information about ring group

Destinations

  • Extension : If destination number is Extension then system will call local extension. 

  • PSTN : If destination number is PSTN then system will call PSTN number using gateway and call charges will be applicable on customer. 

Delay

Set Delay option between extension calls

Only work for Sequence ring strategy

Timeout

Set call ring timeout for extension calls

Only work for Sequence ring strategy

Prompt

Play IVR to extension to accept the call before connecting to customer

Announcement

Select the announcement to play to extension when they pick up the call

Ring Back

Select ring back tone. 

When Caller will Dialed DID number then caller will listen above selected Ring back tone.


CID Name Prefix

Set CID name prefix to append in original caller id name and it will display to ringing extensions. 

Example

Original caller id name is John and you set ABC_ as CID Name Prefix then it display ABC_John to ringing extensions

CID Number Prefix

Set CID number prefix to append in original caller id number and it will display to ringing extensions. 

Example

Original caller id number is 91273982181 and you set 007_ as CID Number Prefix then it display 007_91273982181 to ringing extensions

Call Recording

  • Forcefully Enable: Override account recording flag and record the call
  • Forcefully Disable: Override account recording flag and does not record the call
  • Enable: Use account recording flag

Skip Busy

Set Yes to skip the busy extensions from the ring group call

No Answer Call Type (Failover Destination)

If not destinations pick call or not available then call will route to No Answer Call Type

Status

Set ring group status

Duration (List View)

Displays total calls duration which are handed by this ring group

What is needed to setup a Ring Group?

To establish call forwarding for a specific customer using a ring group, we require DID numbers that are associated with the account for which the ring group has been created. Now the ring group can be added to a desire account DID number.

User can use Ring group in Time condition module.
